 WINTER

Eh, winter stay , stay for a  few more days ,

We look for thy cool touch round the year.

Thou can't depart so early .

Here , in this part of India ..

North east ,

Winter is most sought after ,

We have summer heat not so hot ,

We have rains not so scary ,

We have autumn very pleasing,

A time of festivities,

We have spring , oh, so much 

pleasant, romantic, colorful,

You can't imagine !! 

We have winter of a short duration,

That's the cause of lamentation,

December ,novermber , January,

Months trio ,

Northern winds blow ,

Not severe but mild ,

No iceflakes seen falling,

No skatting on ice .

It is the plain of Gangetic Bengal .

Winter is celebrated with much fanfare and aplomb,

Pous Mela , Makar Sankranti Mela ,

Are enjoyed in gay abandon ,

Cakes of myriad types , mouthwatering, 

Oh,just can't ignore it!! 

A picnic Time ,

We very much miss ,

Once winter gives a bidding kiss.
